Columbia Applied Analytics Acceptance Rate
In Data Science is a 30-credit program that offers students an in-depth training in data science, and the opportunity to work closely with diverse Columbia faculty members as well as industry affiliates. The interdisciplinary curriculum provides students with the flexibility to hone in on their particular interests and skill sets through the optional elective track, which include the Institute’s research centers and the entrepreneurship track. The program culminates with a semester-length capstone design project that integrates the training in an experience that has practical applications in the real-world.
Part and full-time options available. The Certification of Professional Achievement in Data Sciences is a 12-credit non-degree program jointly offered through the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The foundational data science skills acquired though four courses provide individuals seeking continuing education with the opportunity to either strengthen their existing career prospects in environments where data science skills are valued, or the means of embarking on a new career trajectory that takes advantage of the growing demand for a workforce with data science skills or knowledge. Students may complete the program in as little as two semesters of part-time study.
Francisco Javier Arceo is a Columbia University student ambassador entering his master’s degree in the Data Science Institute after having transitioned from the certification program at the Data Science Institute earlier in 2015. He is passionate about data-driven insights, statistics, machine learning, and philanthropy; he has also held research positions at major organizations such as Ipsos, AIG, and Commonwealth Bank. Congratulations to Sarah Egan Warren on her award at the held March 20. Alice nice kathy white forum hot. The symposium included poster presentations from more than 200 graduate students from NC State University. Students were nominated by Directors of Graduate Programs to participate. The posters were judged by faculty, and the top three posters from each category received recognition. Warren’s poster (“Former Ballet Dancers’ Transfer of 21st Century Skills to Careers as Data Analysts”) was awarded 3rd place for the College of Education where she is completing her PhD in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development.
