Z Drive Windows 10
This is the second or third time this has happened. I randomly have a Local Disk (Z:) on my PC. It is always small, between 200-500 MB. When I click on it, it says,'You don't currently have permission to access this folder.
Click Continue to permanently get access to this folder.' When I click 'Continue'. It says, 'You have been denied permission to access this folder. To gain access to this folder you will need to use the security tab.'

In our case it was the recovery partition and the users definitely didn't manually set a drive letter, it just happened on its own. It isn't a recovery partition. I have my regular c drive, a recovery partition, and the Z: drive.Michael Perez wrote:A recent update made this appear for some users on Windows 2012 R2, once we rebooted it went away. I read up on it a bit and a lot of other people have had the same thing happen to them. There is some speculation, but no one has a definitive answer yet.
