Its not always size its if 1has higher watt handeling and 1 has duel voice coils and 1 has 1 voice coil go with the duel voice coil and i would recomend the 15' kicker L7`S IN A PORTED SUB BOX bc thats what im useing with a 1500watt amp and 2 farad capacitor and it pounds the $#it out if i had it behind my seats i would skip a heart beat:) and blow out my windows so i keep it in my trunk so best to get the biggest u can get but i recomend higher watt subs with higher watt amp and capacitor to get all u can get out of ur amp:). Yeah can i drop a little science.

Bass frequency esp, the ones you are dealing with in the audible range 40hz to 160hz. Wait all you need to know is that bass is omnidirectional so place your subs sideways if you want. It all comes down to your personal ear for audio and prefrence. Now set your crossover to the hfl and lfl as indicated by the manufacture of the subs for their appropriate range. Dont go by the old standard of 15s are 40 12 are 80 and 10 are 160.
Also be sure if you are running dual voice coils to wire them correctlly for the biggest bang for your buck. Enjoy wobbling. To reply to the 'What is making my amp chip degrade in quality/distort/oscillate?' Question i have built one of these and was getting the same symptoms you are.

After much frustration i found that by moving the input and output wires the noises got better and worse. In the end i took the module out and ran it on its own with a 12v sla and replaced the 2 MKT caps i had with electrolytics. This gave a huge improvement and i think that there was lots of interference and input-output coupling going on. As well as some noise from the power supply.
